- Q & A
In 1908, John Browning created the .380 ACP for the blowback pistols of the era that didn’t have a locking mechanism. The .380 ACP has a low bolt thrust, making the locking mechanism unnecessary; the recoil spring and the slide’s mass are enough to absorb the energy of the recoil. Not needing to include the mechanism is part of what makes these guns more affordable, and it also allows the barrel to be fixed to the frame permanently, which significantly increases accuracy. The .380 ACP has been incredibly popular as a self-defense weapon since its inception, due in part to its minimal recoil, accuracy, and lightweight frame, which makes it easier to conceal.
It’s important to be proficient with your gun, and that means dedicated hours at the range or an outdoor spot. And in order to spend those hours training, you need a lot of ammunition – but you don’t want to compromise quality. Speer Lawman is a line created 35 years ago specifically to give shooters quality rounds at reasonable prices, and not only that, many Lawman loads are designed to mimic the velocity and energy of defense rounds. For decades, experienced shooters have counted on Speer Lawman to help them reach their marksmanship goals. Speer’s ammunition is manufactured to stringent standards at their plant in Lewiston, Idaho.
These are standard-weight rounds at 95 grain. They’re TMJ, which is similar to FMJ with the exception that the base of the bullet is enclosed, which drastically reduces how much lead is released into the air. These rounds are great for target practice and tactical training – and if you just want to go out and shoot some cans or random inanimate objects, they can do that, too. They have a muzzle velocity of 945 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 188 foot-pounds. When you place your order, you’ve hit the ammunition mother lode, because there are 1,000 rounds in this case. Start your stockpile, add to it, or go shooting – it’s all good with Speer Lawman.
