This cartridge is outfitted with a 156 grain soft point projectile. The bullet will reach a 2,444 fps muzzle velocity out of a 21.75” test barrel, and its ballistically efficient profile and slight boat tail give it a G1 0.456/G7 0.230 ballistic coefficient. The bullet’s trajectory ought to peak at 8.38” before it collides with its target at 300 yards, at which distance it retains 1,273 ft lbs of energy – more than sufficient for anchoring a whitetail. The soft point takes the simplest approach to terminal expansion.
