- Q & A
In the world of target shooting there’s more than one kind of clay used. Different clays represent different game and may be launched either into the air or are rolled across the ground. Most people are familiar with the standard clay target, which is an inverted saucer made of pitch and limestone. But there is also the midi, which is the same saucer shape but is smaller at 90mm in diameter instead of 108mm and, being smaller, moves much faster. Mini targets are even smaller at 60mm and are sometimes referred to as bumblebee clays; they move with significant speed. Others are the battue which is thin and launches fast, then drops, simulating a duck landing, and the thicker rabbit which rolls on the ground. Last but not least is the ZZ, a standard sized clay attached to a two-blade propeller that zigzags unpredictably. To shatter any of these clays, you need ammunition.
These rounds are for your 12 gauge shotgun. Each shell is 2 ¾” long and has a 1 1/8 ounce load which provides terrific power for the #8 steel shot it’s filled with. These rounds fly from the barrel of your shotgun with nice speed at a muzzle velocity of 1145 feet per second and impact clays with more than enough force to shatter them. Federal uses only high-quality components and carries out rigorous testing to ensure the performance of all their ammunition. These 12 gauge rounds are specifically made for target shooting but can also be used for target practice in general.
When you place your order for this box of ammunition from Federal you get 250 shotgun shells. With 250 rounds you can get some focused practice time in so your next scores will be even better. These shells are pink because they’re made in support of the Susan G. Komen Foundation which supports breast cancer research. By ordering pink 12 gauge rounds you’re both giving and showing your support to a worthy cause. Federal manufactures these rounds at their plant in Anoka, Minnesota, where they’ve been since 1922. Place your order now and feed your shotgun some pink shells.
