- Q & A
Back in 1816 a young man by the name of Eliphalet Remington won second place in a competition using a flintlock rifle he’d designed all on his own and built using his father’s forge. Although he would’ve liked to have won first place, the spectators at the competition were mightily impressed by his rifle and immediately began asking if he could make them their own. Eliphalet decided to fill those orders – and then some – and Remington was born. For 200 years they’ve been building on the solid foundation that began the day Eliphalet first sketched out his design; today the name of Remington speaks for itself.
These are 180 grain rounds, making them pretty heavy for the .30-06. These rounds are heavy enough to deliver enormous knockdown power yet light enough to move at impressive speeds. This is Remington Core-Lokt ammunition; the jacket is bonded to the core for superior weight retention and improved performance overall. Each round is topped with a PSP bullet – Pointed Soft Point – which delivers controlled expansion immediately upon impact, penetrating deeply for a crippling wound track. This ammunition has a muzzle velocity of 2700 feet per second and muzzle energy of 2913 foot-pounds, and it’s made specifically for hunting game such as whitetail deer.
There are 200 rounds in this box of ammunition; with 200 rounds you can have a fantastic hunt and also get some valuable target practice in. Remember, target rounds perform differently than expanding rounds like these PSPs; this ammunition produces more felt recoil, which affects accuracy and shot placement. It’s important to spend time practicing with the ammunition you’re planning to hunt with, because only realistic practice can ensure a successful hunt. Remington manufactures this ammunition at their plant in Lonoke, Arkansas, according to exacting standards. Order now and feed your .30-06, because it’s one hungry gun.
