The .223 Remington round was designed in 1964 by none other than Remington and quickly became immensely popular among civilian rifle owners. It’s most commonly seen in two forms: the varmint rifle, and the semi-auto, and it’s now the most common rifle round in the country. Semi-auto .223 rifles are used by a large number of law enforcement agencies and are used by civilians for hunting and home defense. It really is a fantastic round, both fun to shoot and powerful in its delivery; it’s versatility makes it useful, and the style and performance of rifles such as the AR-15 are a large part of what makes it more enjoyable. If you own a .223, odds are you need some affordable ammunition, and that’s where Tula comes in.
Tula has been in business since 1712, and with more than 300 years in business they have certainly mastered the art of manufacturing ammunition. Their plant is located in Tula Russia, just where it always has been, and they use the latest technology to produce all their ammunition, which meets SAAMI or CIP specifications. One of Tula’s innovative technologies is the way they make their steel cases using a bimetal layering process. They alternate steel and copper in thin layers until the cartridge reaches the proper thickness, and then the finished round is coated with a special polymer to ensure consistent cycling.
At 55 grain these are pretty lightweight .223 rounds, but that lighter weight does mean they’re able to move down-range more quickly. These are HP rounds, so they begin to expand immediately on impact while simultaneously decelerating. Their expansion creating a devastating wound channel and their slowing down prevents over-penetration, which helps to protect innocent bystanders. HP rounds are designed for self-defense and hunting, but you can also use this ammunition for target practice. There are 500 HP rounds in this box, so you can heat up your .223 and keep it going for awhile before you run out. With Tula’s affordable ammunition you have no excuse not to feed your rifle, so order a box, and get to the range!
(This ammunition is steel-cased. Some ranges do not allow rounds with steel cases, so make sure you double check before trying to use this ammunition at your area range.)
