This round’s case is made of steel instead of brass. Steel is more rigid than brass, which is why this ammo’s cases won’t snap back to their original dimensions after ignition. In other words, if you’re a handloader, this case of 38 Spl ammo won’t give you any reloading components.

This round’s 130 grain full metal jacket bullet has a flat nose profile, which makes it safe for a lever-action rifle and easier to tell how closely you’re grouping your shots on a paper target. The FMJ has a lead core, but its bi-metal jacket is almost entirely made out of steel. (It has a thin copper-washed exterior for enhanced cosmetics.) A bullet that contains steel poses a greater risk of creating sparks and damaging a range’s backdrop. That’s why many ranges ban bullets which are capable of attracting a magnet.
