- Q & A
The 7.62x54r was designed in 1891, but since it was originally made for the Russian army, it took longer to hit the civilian market. When it did, though, its popularity immediately soared thanks to its stopping power, speed, and affordable price. The 7.62x54r is capable of reaching velocities and energies similar to that of the .308 Winchester, so it’s really no surprise it’s so popular. It’s good for long-range shots and is able to maintain good energy retention, both of which have made it a fairly popular hunting round as well.
At 148 grain, these are pretty light for the 7.62x54r cartridge. Of course, lighter means faster, and there’s not much more satisfying than when a round makes it downrange and rings steel faster than you can blink. They’re Full Metal Jacket rounds, so they don’t expand on impact and they’re ideal for target practice, tactical training, and plinking. Each round moves like lightning at a muzzle velocity of 2785 feet per second, and they impact your stationary targets with the enormous power you’ve come to expect from your rifle.
You get 500 target rounds in this box, which translates to an awesome weekend shooting your 7.62-54r-chambered rifle. Sure, you could spread it out over more than one weekend, but why wait? Burn through this box, and get some more. Tula manufactures ammunition at their plant in Tula, Russia. They were founded in 1712 and now have more than 300 years of proven history behind them, making them one of the oldest ammunition manufactures in the world. There’s no reason for high-volume shooting to break the bank; with Tula you can shoot to your heart’s content. Don’t let anything stop you from hitting the range; order now.
(This ammunition is steel-cased. Some ranges do not allow rounds with steel cases, so make sure you double check before trying to use this ammunition at your area range.)
