Winchester must be tickled pink that the 350 Legend was so well received! That’s why the old American company hit the drawing board and made their round bigger and even more powerful. They spent all night thinking up a name for this new .40 cal upgrade – and they finally dubbed it the 400 Legend. A legendary move on their part!

This cartridge’s 215 grain bullet delivers 25% more energy to its target than the 350 Legend – or 20% more energy than the classic 30-30. Its energy is also equivalent to the 450 Bushmaster, but with only about 80% as much recoil.

This round’s Power-Point bullet is perfect for all your medium game hunting endeavors. If fired from a 20” barrel, the 0.206 G1 BC soft point bullet will conserve at least 1,000 ft lbs of energy until it reaches 232 yards. The Power-Point isn’t bonded, but its rigid copper jacket does secure effectively deep penetration for anchoring black bear, wild boar and whitetail. The jacket’s symmetrical array of notches promotes wider and more uniform expansion as well.
