The .357 Magnum is just one of the rounds we have renowned outdoorsman Elmer Keith to thank for, because if it wasn’t for his dedication to hand-loading, this round wouldn’t exist. It’s been on the market since 1934, when it was created as a step up over the .38 Super Automatic. While it was technically the result of a collaborative effort between Elmer Keith, Phillip B. Sharpe, and Colonel D.B. Wesson, Keith was responsible for the lion’s share of its creation. One contribution Keith made was his unique Keith bullet which featured a flat meplat for better energy transfer and greater wounding potential; although the final .357 Magnum round used a bullet that was altered somewhat the original design was at its core.

These .357 Magnum rounds are made by Magtech, a company with decades of experience manufacturing ammunition. These are Lead Semi-Wadcutters (LSWC) and do not expand on impact. These rounds are designed to create holes with clean edges for easier scoring as well as greater accuracy.
