- Q & A
The .308 Win is a rimless, bottlenecked cartridge that first hit the market in 1952. It was introduced as a hunting round for the civilian market and gained almost instantaneous popularity, but that isn’t all it’s used for. Among its more popular uses are its use by military snipers and police sharpshooters; the .308 Win is a powerful round that is fantastic for long-range shots, and that makes it superb for many uses. As a hunting round it’s been used for everything from whitetail deer to antelope to bears, and it isn’t just popular here in the United States, either. This cartridge is quite popular among Bushveld hunters in Africa and hunters in Sweden, just to name a couple. If you own a .308 Win, you probably use it to hunt, and that means you need excellent shot placement, and we know what that means: ammo.
Mastering shot placement requires range time and large quantities of ammunition, and it can get expensive when you’re honing your marksmanship skills for a hunt. And although it’s certainly worth the cost to master the skills necessary for a truly amazing hunt, it’s also nice if you can get your hands on the ammunition without completely draining your bank account. Wolf, which is a subsidiary of Tula, understands the need for large amount of economically-priced ammunition, and that’s why they’ve perfect their bi-metal layering process. By alternating thin layers of steel and copper Tula creates these affordably priced steel cases which they then berdan prime to ensure ignition as well as extend their shelf life. When the rounds are completed they’re coated with a special polymer for reliable cycling, and the end result is ammunition you can fire to your heart’s content without breaking the bank.
These Tula rounds are made for your .308 Win and are fairly lightweight at 145 grain. They’re Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) rounds, meaning they won’t expand on impact and are prone to over-penetrating, so they’re capable of traveling for miles without stopping, which is why you must have a good backstop in place. This ammunition is specifically made for target practice, tactical training, and plinking. There are 500 target rounds in this box, so you’ll have more than enough ammunition to get some serious trigger time in with your hunting rifle. Ammunition is manufactured at Tula’s factory in Tula, Russia, according to SAAMI or CIP specifications. Place your order now to stock up on target rounds for dedicating training time so you can have your best season ever.
