More Details About Our 500 Rounds of 185gr FMJ .45 ACP Ammo by Remington
There are so many proud American traditions that we can only narrow down our favorites to a list of hundreds of entries. But “1911” and “45 ACP” are definitely both right toward the top! If you share our patriotic sentiments, then you’ll have an easy time figuring out 500 things to do with this case of American-made 45 Auto ammo by Remington!
This cartridge is loaded with the 45’s lighter common bullet. At 185 grains it is still going to produce a subsonic muzzle velocity, but at 1,015 fps it's set to show you a fairly flat trajectory. The full metal jacket bullet has the flat nose profile which cuts a cleaner hole through a paper target, and which would inflict greater damage to a soft medium than a round nose profile equivalent (but still not as much damage as a jacketed hollow point). In true American fashion, Remington does not cheapen their FMJs by sneaking any materials into them that would have made them magnetic.
These range loads have new brass cases and the noncorrosive Boxer primers they need to be reloaded. “UMC” is simply a brand name Remington uses for these tried and true target shooting cartridges – it stands for “Union Metallic Cartridge,” and it doesn’t indicate anything about the ammo’s performance.
