More Details About This Armscor 125gr FMJ .38 Spl Ammo

The .38 Special is a rimmed, centerfire cartridge that first came out in 1898. It’s quite possibly the most popular revolver round in the world, but there are also a few semi-auto’s and carbines chambered in it. For a period of 70 years, between 1920 and 1990, it was the standard issue weapon for the majority of police departments in the U.S., and there are many law enforcement officers who continue to favor the .38 as a backup or off-duty gun. Performance-wise it’s a low-pressure cartridge with a standard load of 17,000 psi, while +P loads are usually at about 20,000 psi; it got its start as a black powder load, which affects its pressure capacities to this day. The .38 Special is a favorite for many firearms aficionados, and if you have one, you need some ammo.

Whether you use your gun for concealed carry or for trips to the range, you need to feed it. This ammunition from Armscor is affordably priced, which allows you to spend more time shooting your favorite gun without worrying about the cost, and that’s a big relief. Armscor has been manufacturing quality target rounds at economical prices for more than 60 years. They’re a family-owned business that expanded so extensively they’re now the biggest arms and ammunition company in Southeast Asia and they’re well known for their dedication to keeping up with technology and careful quality control methods. Armscor ammunition is manufactured at their plant in the Philippines.

At 125 grain this ammunition is at the low end of medium-weight for the .38 Special. It’s fairly light and capable of attaining nice speed but also just heavy enough to hit with a bit more strength. These are FMJ rounds for target practice, tactical training, and plinking. Armscor produces them in virgin brass cases using boxer primer, and that means you can burn through the entire box, collect your spent brass, reload, and get back to the range. These rounds have a muzzle velocity of 1025 feet per second and muzzle energy of 299 foot-pounds. There are 1000 target rounds in this case. Order a box to make sure you have plenty of ammunition next time you go shooting, because the last thing you want is to be caught with an empty chamber.
