- Q & A
Blazer is a subsidiary of CCI, a company that was founded in 1951 by Richard Speer. Richard was a machinist at Boeing before he entered the ammunition industry, and his metal working skills translated well into the field. Although he wanted to start his line with reloading components such as brass rolls, it soon became apparent he couldn’t take that approach due to the metal shortages following World War II. Instead he turned to creating better primers, and he did such a good job that CCI remains known for their excellent primers. Today the company is respected in the industry and countless gun owners rely on them to keep their guns loaded and functioning reliably.
These particular CCI rounds are for your .45 ACP. At 230 grain these are considered heavy-weight rounds for the cartridge size. These rounds are heavy enough to strike targets with significant force. These are Total Metal Jacket, or TMJ, rounds and as such will not expand on impact. Target rounds such as these are prone to over-penetration, so make sure you have a good backstop in place during target practice. Each of these rounds flies down-range with a muzzle velocity of 845 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 365 foot-pounds. This ammunition is made by CCI specifically for target practice.
There are 1000 target rounds in this case of CCI ammunition. If you think this case of ammo will last for a long time, we think you might be surprised just how fast you’ll burn through the entire thing. By the time you’ve practiced shooting prone and kneeling, worked on controlling firing with your weak hand, and spent time shooting both supported and unsupported, you’ll be out. But there is good news: these are brand new production, brass-cased rounds with boxer primer, so you can police your spent brass and reload it. CCI manufactures this ammunition at their longtime plant in Lewiston, Idaho. Order now to hone your marksmanship with your .45 ACP. Someday your life may depend on it.
