- Q & A
In 1904, a series of tests was carried out as part of the process to decide what caliber of handgun would be best for the U.S. military. The Cavalry’s great difficult halting the Moro warriors during the Moro Rebellion, which took place in part during the Philippine-American War, proved their current handguns were almost worthless. The tests created some controversy and are sure to cause arguments even today, and if you haven’t guessed yet, we’re talking about the famous Thomspon-LaGarde tests. The men of the same last names fired countless rounds into slaughterhouse cattle and human cadavers, and in the end they’d reached a clear conclusion: the .45 ACP was the only way to go.
These .45 ACP rounds are 230 grain, making them heavy and capable of doing more damage. They’re FMJ rounds and as such do not expand on impact, in fact, FMJ rounds are known to over-penetrate, making it vital to have a good backstop in place during target practice (something you should always have anyway). Each of these rounds flies down-range with a muzzle velocity of 820 feet per second and tears through your stationary target with a muzzle energy of 343 foot-pounds. This ammunition is specifically designed for target practice, shooting drills, and plinking. Get your hands on some to improve your marksmanship and practice Pressure Drills – among others.
With 1000 rounds in this case of ammo your .45 ACP will be eating well for some time. And because M.B.I. takes great care with the selection of their once-fired brass and uses boxer primer, you can easily reload these and spend even more time at the range. M.B.I. stands for Military Ballistic Industries, and they’re well-known for their quality remanufactured ammunition. All ammunition is made right here in America to incredibly high standards; brass cases are examined by hand to ensure the highest possible quality despite their being once-fired, and all other components are, of course, brand new. To save you even more money, M.B.I. packages their ammo in sealed plastic bags. Place your order today and warm up your gun with quality, American remanufactured ammunition.
