If you’re a new dove hunter, try these tricks for greater success on your next hunt: practice mounting your shotgun to your shoulder. Many seasoned pros practice in front of a mirror with a safe, empty shotgun. Remember to mount the shotgun to your cheek before tucking it down into your shoulder, not vice versa. Keep your cheek glued to the stock. And don’t forget to allow for lead time when aiming your shotgun. Doves are in motion, so aim accordingly.
One of the most important aspects of dove hunting is choosing the right ammunition. These particular rounds are made by Estate for your 12-gauge shotgun. Each round measures 2 ¾” in length which is the most common length. Be sure you know what length shotshell your shotgun is designed to use because using the wrong length can have disastrous results. These shotshells contain a 1 ounce load which provides the power necessary to propel pellets towards targets with fantastic force. They’re filled with #7.5 lead shot and can be used for hunting birds such as doves and also for target shooting.
When you order this box of ammunition from Estate you get 250 rounds: 10 boxes of 25 rounds each. With that many shotshells you can get some good practice in before heading out to bag your limit of doves – or you can blow away quite a few empty soda cans and water jugs. Each of these rounds leaves the barrel of your shotgun with a muzzle velocity of 1290 feet per second. Estate is a subsidiary of Federal. Federal manufactures ammunition at their factory in Anoka, Minnesota. Order now to be prepared for dove season.
