Winchester is well known for its rich history, which has its start in the Wild West. The legendary company was founded in 1866 by Oliver Winchester and made its first mark on firearms history by manufacturing the lever-action rifle that would become known as The Gun That Won the West. For 150 years they’ve been making guns and ammunition to fulfill the needs of shooters just like you, and as time goes by their products continue to not only meet but surpass expectations. Their ammunition is made with high-quality components and is the first choice for many members of the military, including SOF, when they’re firing their personal weapons off-base.
Something else with a long tradition in the firearms world is clay shooting, a sport with a few centuries under its proverbial belt and dozens of disciplines. Sporting clays specifically has the largest following of all, maybe because, unlike other clay shooting sports, in sporting clays pretty much anything goes with targets. With sporting clays the target can be launched from a variety of trajectories, angles, distances, and speeds. There also multiple kinds of stands within sporting clay shooting. Although those outside the sport don’t realize it, sporting clays can be a great deal of fun and are quite challenging, too. What better way to hone your shotgun skills than by attempting to shatter clay targets flying around in unpredictable patterns?
In order to shatter those clays you’re going to need good ammunition, which brings us back to Winchester. These 12 gauge rounds have a 1 1/8 ounce load which provides plenty of power and are loaded with #7 ½ shot, which does a fantastic job of shattering clays. With the 1 1/8 ounce load and #7 ½ shot, you’ll be all set. Each shell is 2 ¾” long and has a muzzle velocity of 1200 feet per second. You get 25 rounds in this box of ammunition. If you want to spend time breaking clay targets, you’re going to need good quality ammunition, and these American made shells are exactly what your shotgun wants. If you’re serious about breaking clays, get some serious ammunition; get Winchester.
