If you're looking for a battle tested and proven 9mm full size handgun, then look no further than the handgun the United States Marine Corps calls upon. You won't find a better proving ground than the sands of Iraq where Beretta M9's have functioned as Marine Corps officer's standard side arm. Since 1987, Beretta U.S.A. has made 1.4 million model 92 pistols with 540,000 of these being delivered to the U.S. Armed forces and allies worldwide. 92's undergo hundreds of dimensional inspections and dozens of performance tests.

Beretta's 92FS is the civilian version of the M9 and like the M9 it operates on a short recoil, delayed blowback system which yields faster cycle times, exceptional accuracy, and great reliability. The open top slide design virtually eliminates jamming and allows the shooter to chamber individual rounds in the event that magazines were ever lost. Perfect for left-handed shooters, the 92 features an ambidextrous thumb safety which also functions as a de-cocking lever.

This firearm was manufactured in Italy.

Beretta is one of the oldest firearm manufacturers in the world with a reputation for excellence. Their origination dates back to 1526 when Mastro Bartolomeo Beretta received payment from the Arsenal of Venice for 185 arquebus barrels. Since their early beginnings, they have built an international reputation for uncompromising quality design, and performance. Their core value of "Quality Without Compromise" is the bedrock of Beretta's business and has been a key component of their success which has lasted for over 500 years.

Joe B. Hurt ( Mon, 16 Apr 2012 18:54:55 +0000 ) : Book says shoot what is written on the side of my Beretta. Pazrabellum? Don't see ammo w/parabelum. So far I shoot anything and no problem. What gives with all this recomemded ammo?
Michael Degiorgio ( Thu, 18 Apr 2013 17:48:23 +0000 ) : Hi there, Parabellum is the full name, shortened to 9mm Para also called 9 mm Luger, this describes the type of round 9mm X 19mm and not the brand. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9x19mm_Parabellum

Ryk E Lee ( Fri, 13 Nov 2015 19:23:06 +0000 ) : No mention of the best choice, Israel Military Industries, 158Gr 9mm designed for the Uzi .
Bret Hatch ( Tue, 09 Feb 2016 19:08:23 +0000 ) : so far out of the few different weights of ammo i fire (casing or type [fmj, hp, etc] hasnt mattered) but it does seem to like the heavier the better. when i shoot 115gr, it seems to be all over the place, no functional issues, but when i shoot 124/147 it seems to be rock steady.
Paul Gandolfi ( Wed, 17 Feb 2016 03:21:59 +0000 ) : Tried the PMC Bronze 115gr in my 92fs. The gun would not cycle after every shot. I had to manually cycle the gun after every shot to eject and reload. I had just finished off, about, 30 rounds of Winchester 124gr with no problems.
