The 7.62x54r was first introduced for service by the Russian Empire in 1891, and three governments later it is still going strong. If you have a Mosin-Nagant, a rifle which is so durable that you could probably send it to the sun and back without making it worse for wear, then it deserves ammo which is just as hearty as it is. That’s why we offer this surplus ammo direct from Russia -- it’s packaged in its original sealed spam can, so you can confidently store it for ages or haul it into the woods to enjoy it there. This round features a 148 grain full metal jacket projectile, just like the Лёгкая Пуля (“Light Bullet”) its caliber was updated with in 1908. The round has a cost-effective but non-reloadable copper-washed steel casing, and the sealant on its primer and mouth helps to keep its sensitive components safe from damage by moisture infiltration. This round’s Berdan primer is corrosive, but that’s nothing a prompt cleaning after shooting can’t compensate for!
