More Details About Our 1080 Rounds of 123gr FMJ 7.62x39mm Ammo by Red Army Standard Polymer Coated

The 7.62x39mm is perhaps best known for its use in the AK-47. The AK-47, or Automat Kalashnikova, was designed starting in 1945 by Mikhail Kalashnikov. Work on the AK-47 started right as World War II came to a close and it was presented to the Soviet Army for evaluation in 1946. It began to see major production in 1949, which is when it was officially brought into service by the Soviet Army, and before long it was being used by states involved in the Warsaw Pact. Due in part to its ability to perform in extreme temperatures the AK-47 is still used in many countries today and is also a popular gun for target shooting.

This 7.62x39mm is manufactured for your AK-47 – and other 7.62x39mm chambered rifles – by Red Army Standard Ammunition. Each round weighs in at 123 grain which makes them relatively lightweight for the cartridge size. Being so lightweight is what enables these rounds to zip down-range at higher speeds and also keeps felt recoil manageable. These are FMJ, Full Metal Jacket, rounds and do not expand on impact. In fact, target rounds fired from rifles can literally travel for miles before stopping which is one reason you must have a solid backstop in place. This ammunition is meant for target practice and plinking.

When you order this single box of ammunition from Red Army Standard Ammunition you get 20 target rounds. This box is the perfect size for stashing in your range bag or pack when you’re headed out to the range or your favorite outdoor shooting spot. It’s also a good size for stacking on the shelf of your gun safe for later use. This ammunition is produced in steel cases with berdan primer to ensure ignition and extend its shelf life. Red Army Standard is a line associated with the Century International Arms company which is located in Florida. They important cartridges from the Soviet Union and other Eastern Bloc countries for sale here in the United States. Order now for some trigger time with your favorite 7.62x39mm.

Ammo works well -- no misfires, jams, or any ammo related problems I can find

Performance

I hadn't tried Red Army Standard before but I was looking for some inexpensive ammunition that worked reliably for training with my VZ-58. Currently all 180 rounds that I've tried so far have performed well.

Some people may indicate the ammo is either "dirty", "unreliable", and/or "inaccurate". I found just the opposite and was pleasantly surprised along each of those metrics. My weapon ran reasonably clean, all 180 rounds I tried so far have fired and extracted properly, and I can't blame any of my problems with precision on the ammo.
